Holistic Parenting
Dr Jennifer is passionate about holistic parenting—the nurturing and strengthening of a child’s physical, emotional and spiritual well-being. She believes this style of parenting requires constant learning and sourcing of knowledge on the part of the parent. It does not happen by default, but rather requires both commitment and stamina.
Most parents will admit that the years seem to ‘fly by’ when they think of their children growing up. Perhaps the reason is because children learn and change so quickly; in the seeming blink of an eye, your baby is a toddler, and then a child, and then a teenager. The process is indeed a miracle that unfolds rapidly before you.
The only way we can ‘slow time down’ is to enjoy as much of this time as possible. By valuing these precious years, and giving our child our fullest attention and love, we will experience a rich and rewarding relationship, no matter what obstacles need to be faced.
At the same time, the love we give to our child is a medicine in its own right; it strengthens all aspects of a child’s psychology and physiology, promoting a happiness and vitality that no drug or treatment could ever match.
